  • Indicate your body is metabolizing fat by using Ketostix  (which measures ketosis)
  • Ketostix turn a dark color when you urinate on them, indicating ketones in your urine; they can usually be found at pharmacies or health food stores
  • Use Albustix to ensure you are not metabolizing muscle 
  • Albustix should show a light color, indicating no protein in your urine; this means muscle isn’t being broken down, which would happen on a VLCD without HCG

Why Alkalize?


·       Did you know that it is nearly impossible to lose any significant amount of weight (or burn fat) when your body is in an acid state?  Exercise will expel toxins and burn calories, but many times individuals try and try and can’t seem to lose weight and keep it off.  Often times they are losing more water than actually metabolizing fat.

·       Did you know that the Japanese and Koreans have been drinking alkalized water for decades for it's innate health benefits: it's ability to deliver oxygen to the cells more readily as well as it's ability to attach to toxins throughout the body and expel these acids through our endocrine system.

Fast foods and prepared foods often have too much sugar, salt, starches and saturated fats which lead to acidosis of you blood.

  ·       On top of dietary influences, prescription & illegal drugs, anxiety & stress, smoking, alcohol consumption, some household chemicals and personal care products and in cases, the environment, can all have acid affects on your body.

·       When your body’s pH level shifts slightly more to the alkaline side, your body is able to balance your pH by metabolizing fat stores (acid source).

·       It takes approximately 4 units of alkalinity to neutralize 1 unit of acid, therefore our diets should contain a similar ration of foods from the alkaline side of the food chart in comparison to those foods that create an acid effect on our body.  Some experts say to target 80% alkaline foods at every meal.

On a personal note:  As of October 25, 2011 I am down 26lbs. since beginning the HCG protocol Tuesday, October 11th.  I began the Body-by-Vi system integration on the 3rd day of the HCG protocol, Thursday October 13th; this is because the 1st 2 days of the HCG protocol tell you to gorge and eat whatever you want (in the loading phase). 
So it has been literally all of 15 days I have been counting calories.
Outside of the HCG protocol, I am seeing many amazing results through friends that are strictly following the Body-by-Vi program, however, given my own personal results I must admit, this is indeed a jump start!
